Buyer questions
Silicone extrusion FAQ
The questions procurement and engineering teams ask before they send a drawing. Each answer is written for a buyer who has to justify the decision, not for a brochure.
What is the typical lead time for custom silicone extrusions?
Stock profiles of our standard shapes ship right away. Custom extrusions, including tooling and production, take 2-4 weeks, and expedited slots are available when your line cannot wait.
Can I get samples before placing a full order?
Yes. We can send prototype samples or run a small trial batch so you can test fit, compression set and performance before committing to a production order.
Can you supply both standard and custom silicone extrusions?
Yes. Standard profiles cover the common shapes we hold in stock, and custom extrusions are made to your cross-section, length, hardness and colour - including Pantone matching.
Do you offer secondary operations on silicone sealing strips?
Yes. Cutting, mitering, corner bonding, adhesive backing, slotting and die-cutting are all done in-house, so a finished part reaches you instead of a length of extruded rubber.
What should I look for when choosing a silicone extrusion supplier?
Ask four questions: do they extrude their own rubber, can they cut their own tools, will they send a sample before you commit, and can they document consistency across batches.
How do you guarantee quality consistency between batches?
Consistency is controlled at three points - incoming material, in-process dimensional checks, and pre-shipment inspection - so every batch is measured against the same standard as the first one.
Still deciding on the specification?
Send what you have - a drawing, a sample part, or just the operating temperature and the fluid the seal will touch. If the geometry is not final, we will tell you which standard profile gets you testing fastest while the custom die is cut.
