Frequently asked
What is the typical lead time for custom silicone extrusions?
Stock profiles of our standard shapes ship right away. Custom extrusions, including tooling and production, take 2-4 weeks, and expedited slots are available when your line cannot wait.
Standard profiles - ship from stock
Our common profile shapes and standard colours are held in stock, so the clock starts the moment you confirm the specification. If your drawing matches an existing shape, you can have material in hand within days rather than weeks.
Custom extrusions - tooling then production
A custom profile starts with a die. Once the die is cut and trialled, production runs to your length, colour and hardness. From drawing to first good parts, budget 2-4 weeks. Most of that time is die development and first-article approval, not moulding.
How to get your lead time shortened
Send a complete drawing with cross-section, material grade, hardness and target quantity before you ask for a quote. A partial enquiry lengthens the reply because we have to come back with questions. Approving the die drawing and the first sample in one pass also removes a week or more.
Sampling runs in parallel with tooling
We can run a small trial batch on an existing die while your custom die is being cut. You get material to test fit and compression set on your assembly instead of waiting for the tool to finish.

Send the drawing, cross-section, material grade, hardness and target quantity. We will quote against it and tell you whether a stock profile fits or the part has to be extruded.
