Frequently asked

How do you guarantee quality consistency between batches?

Consistency is controlled at three points - incoming material, in-process dimensional checks, and pre-shipment inspection - so every batch is measured against the same standard as the first one.

Material comes in controlled

Silicone compounds are supplied against a specification and qualified before they enter production. Mixing is recorded, so a batch can always be traced back to the compound and the shift that ran it.

Dimensions are checked during the run

Extrusion drifts as the die wears. Checking during the run rather than only at the end means a drift is corrected while it is still a few parts off, instead of after a whole reel has been wound.

Hardness and appearance checked before packing

Hardness, colour and surface condition are inspected before the goods are packed. The inspection record travels with the batch so you can pull it if a part ever fails in your assembly.

First-article approval sets the reference

The first part of a run is measured and approved against your drawing, and that measurement becomes the reference the rest of the order is judged against. If a revision is made, the reference is re-approved, not quietly updated.

What you receive with the shipment

Request the inspection record with your order. It is the fastest way to see whether a supplier measures its output or only describes it.

Need your profile made?

Send the drawing, cross-section, material grade, hardness and target quantity. We will quote against it and tell you whether a stock profile fits or the part has to be extruded.
